Financial Reporting Analyst

Our clients span every sector of the economy, from long-time manufacturers, distributors and professional services firms to emerging software and other high tech enterprises.
MFA is currently seeking an individual to join our firm as a Financial Reporting Analyst supporting our Audit practice. This position is the point person of centralized client financial statement reporting and technical research activities. Responsibilities entail solid knowledge and experience base of financial statement reporting, accounting and Audit. In addition to a high aptitude geared toward financial statement reporting, technical GAAP/IFRS accounting (and GAAS auditing, secondarily), and accounting related IT/software are necessary. Public Company (SEC) experience is a plus.
In addition to the above, the ideal candidate will possess:
- Bachelor’s in Accounting or Finance, Masters Degree beneficial, but not required
- CPA (or Candidate) strongly beneficial
- Three to five years of prior experience in private accounting (or, secondarily, public accounting – i.e., auditing)
- Experience with financial statement reporting, and solid core accounting and GAAP knowledge
- Strong customer service skills and accountability
- Well-developed written and oral communication skills
- An aptitude for and experience with managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced and growing environment
- Exhibit organization, coordination and follow-up skills
- Exhibit problem solving skills, attention to quality, thoroughness and accuracy
- Exhibit an ability to work independently
- Solid facility with absorbing and relaying technical and accounting material
- Knowledge of accounting software, methodologies and accounting research tools (CaseWare and CaseView or equivalents a plus)
- Public company (SEC) experience is beneficial
- An aptitude for or experience with mentoring, coaching and development of staff
