Corporate Tax Manager

Tax Managers strive to provide clients with premier client service, delivering tax compliance and advisory services and implementing tax strategies which align with a client’s overall business goals.  Additional responsibilities include day to day management of department and the professionals as well as providing career guidance and ensuring outstanding client service across all levels.

The Corporate Tax Manager will provide clients with premier client service, delivering tax compliance and advisory services and implementing tax strategies which align with a client’s overall business goals. Duties and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for managing and monitoring multiple client engagements by providing timely, high quality service that meets or exceeds client expectations
  • Provide corporate tax compliance services through primary and secondary review of complex income tax returns, including C-Corps and Partnerships.
  • Provide assistance to clients related to ASC 740 including calculation and/or review for both privately held and public companies
  • Provide tax consulting and develop innovative strategies for a dynamic client base
  • Provide advisory services to clients regarding federal and state tax audits and notices
  • Conduct tax research for various client situations
  • Responsible for budget management and resolution of billing or fee issues
  • Maintain an open line of communication with the engagement team, engagement partner and clients
  • Actively participate in firm administration as appropriate (i.e. focus groups, dept initiatives, scheduling)
  • Contribute to the ongoing development/enhancement of tax department policies and procedures
  • Actively mentor multiple members
  • Participate in external and internal presentations and training
  • Facilitate professional development to enhance technical skills of tax department members
  • Collaborate with members to develop a team environment
  • Work closely with partners on proposals and business development activities
  • Maintain active communication with clients to manage expectations and ensure the highest level of client satisfaction
  • Responsible for direct client nurturing activities
  • Identify service opportunities with existing clients and actively work with the engagement partner through the sales process

Education & Certification/ License Credentials

  • Bachelor’s degree  in Accounting or Finance from an accredited university
  • Master’s in Taxation or MBA preferred
  • Licensed CPA in the State of MA

Functional Competencies — Skills, Knowledge & Experience

  • Seven to ten years of continuous federal and state tax consulting and/or compliance experience in public accounting
  • Experience in corporate tax compliance and ASC 740-10 (FAS 109 and FIN 48)
  • Exhibit superior verbal and written skills
  • Strong client service skills with ability to develop and maintain client relationships
  • Exhibit superior organizational and project management to ensure the success of multiple engagements with multiple teams
  • Ability to effectively delegate work as needed
  • Must have skills related to supervising engagement team members and instructing them on completing assigned tasks
  • Experience and comfort developing new business or expanding existing client business
  • Ability to listen and respond effectively with good judgment
